Probably one of the more affordable donuts and bombolinis around with an assorted box of 6 priced at $16.90. Depending on the flavour, it can come in either a donut or a bombolini. It is indeed true that the donuts and bombolinis here come across as greasy, and instead of the usual fluffiness that I was expecting, the texture resembled closer to a bread bun. Personally I enjoyed the pistachio ganache which many reviews raved about, filling was extremely rich and carried the roasted nutty notes really well. Expectedly the peanut butter jam was really sweet, Milo Oreo crunch and donutella were the usual chocolate based for chocolate lovers while the honey vanilla cream was contrastingly subtle. Definitely for sharing with a bunch to avoid the jelakness.

My first time trying bombolinis!

Oreo 🍪
Pistachio 🥜
Chocolate 🍫
Nutella 🌰
Lotus biscuit 🍪
PB&J 🥜

I admittedly don't have much to compare with but these seemed to have a very generous amount of filling in them. I managed to try the lotus biscuit and the pistachio, which were both thick and rich. You could even taste the gritty pistachios they ground down. However, others who tried it all agreed that the excessive powdered sugar tipped the bombolinis into saccharine territory. They were also quite greasy and the dough wasn't as chewy as what I'd expect from a doughnut.

These are considerably cheaper than the popular burnt ends ones (5 for $20) but given the neighborhood location (whampoa) the shop is located, these pastries could be considered on the pricier end.

Doughnut Shack is one of those hype food places that sure has its fans and critics. I belong to the latter category. While the price for bombolonis is fairly affordable, it’s nothing but hype. Before going into the details, I gotta say that each and every dough contains enough oil to fill an oil tanker. Some of the fillings are good but you can’t expect me to like anything else if the exterior is just so greasy.

Most of us who shared the doughnuts enjoyed the nutty pistachio cream doughnuts. I personally enjoyed the peanut butter and jelly filling with the generous amount of peanut butter and the sweet, fruity strawberry jam.

The others that I tried were either too sweet or not memorable. I didn’t get to try all the flavours that’s shown here.

A box of 2 is $6. If you want a box of 6, that will be $16.90. And a box of 20 is $56.

I’m not sure if people are still queuing hours for it. I hope not.

Went to Doughnut Shack at Whampoa on a Sunday afternoon. Drove there but took awhile to find the place as it’s a little deep in & we were trying the find the way in. Honestly not very accessible for people to go.

There were a few people queuing in front of me outside of the shop as the shop only let one person (or one grp) in at one time. Waited for at least 20mins in the heat before I could enter the shop.

Bought all flavours of bombolinis to try because I’ve never tried bombolinis before. The more you buy, the cheaper it is, so we bought 10. Each costs $2.80 so we paid $28.

Flavours bought:
• Creme bulee 7/10
• Banofee Cream 7.5/10
• Donutello 8/10
• Azuki Kinako Cream 7/10
• Pistachio 8/10
• Dulce De Leche Cheesecake 7.5/10
• Peanut butter jelly 7.5/10
• Strawberry milk ganache 8/10
• Summer berries chocolate donut 8/10

The flavoured fillings were a lot inside but the dough of the donut wasn’t very tender, like when you bite into it, it’s not very soft and chewy, it’s a little hard. Perhaps I’ve tried better doughnuts such as Krispy Kreme’s and am comparing to their donuts which are really soft and chewy. Definitely prefer Krispy Kreme’s donuts given that it’s the same price. I will not go back to buy it, for the taste & for queuing in the heat.

Got this box of 4 for $11.50 consisting of:
- pistachio ganache
- mocha ganache
- toasted marshmallow
- i forgot the name of this flavour sorry!! ☹️☹️☹️

the doughnuts were chewy and generously filled!! (But honestly very oily 😩)

Pistachio is my fave, but this time, the toasted marshmallow topped it!! 🤩🤩🤩 it was slathered with a layer of marshmallow and what I believe to be biscoff cookie crumbs!!!!! Super messy to eat but worth it!! 😛😛😛😛

The mocha ganache and the berry filled donut was abit too strong for my liking, so I didn’t enjoy it as much.

went there on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no queue!

wouldn’t return because i think the donuts can get v jelak , and it’s just aesthetically pleasing, nothing too special imo!

I ordered from top : Nutella, Pistachio , peanut butter and lemon curd.
The Doughnut texture soft, slighlty chewy and very generous of filling (quite sweet).
💰$2.80 per pcs (according price box of 20 pcs).

free delivery if purchase above $120.
