Been meaning to review this much vaunted Chee Cheong Fun for so long but the problem with trying to eat at this stall is their timing, 7am to 10am and they are closed on Mondays and Weds. Happened to be in the area very early today and finally I managed to try it.

Traditional is the key word. Silky Chee Cheong Fun paired with sweet sauce, fragrant oil and a drizzle of light soya sauce. Nothing new but the combination is near perfect. For $2, you get this small plate. Enough for a snack but not a meal.

Certainly one of the best Chee Cheong Fun in Singapore today if you only want old style CCF.

Unlike the Cantonese Style Chee Cheong Fun (CCF) whereby this traditional breakfast item is usually made painstakingly hot on the spot, Duo Ji had theirs freshly supplied by their supplier every morning. What could have possibly demanded the long queue?

The CCF is generously spread with fragrant oil and sweet sauce. Their chilli sauce also enhances the flavour of the plain rice rolls and finally, sesame seeds were drizzled on top of it. Though these were from suppliers, I would say that their quality was not of the usual factory-made ones. The texture was soft and springy.

šŸ„° Old school Chee Cheong Fun in Chinatown. This is one of the popular stall here. Ordered the S$3 portion.

Sells out pretty fast so you got be here early in the morning before 10am. It's simple traditional CCF but what makes it so yummy to me is the sweet sauce & chilli sauce they use. CCF is smooth and soft.

As I came around 8am thereā€™s already a long queue. So for those who want to try this, make sure you make your way here early morning before they sold out pretty fast.

For only $2, you could already grab a small plate of it that comes with both chee cheong fun and yam cake.

The sweet and chili sauce mixed well for both of them.

Duo Ji Chee Cheong Fun didnā€™t make their own chee cheong fun, they got it from a supplier fresh every morning. Upon order, they will cut them diagonally and drizzle their fragrant oil, sesame seeds, black sweet sauce and chilli sauce.

Duo ji famous chee cheong fun

Finally! Finally ! Finally !
Yes - finally managed to make my way down and not have to hear the same response that they are sold out.

I used to wonder if they were sold out by 10 am ... then really .....what time do people come here for breakfast . 6 am ?

I had hoped to take a better picture but was too eager to start eating that this photo was really what was left of my chee cheong fun after 3 mouthfuls.

Duo ji has been around for the longest time ( and they have a faithful following of regulars that are mostly the older generation ) and they are known for the unique way that they cut their chee cheong fun ( with an attitude ) and their nice home blended sweet Chilli sauce.

I love the texture of the chee cheong fun here - springy to the bite and served just at the right temperature with a combination of their home made Chilli , black sweet sauce , soy sauce and a splash of sesame oil .

It's my default stall for chee cheong fun when I come to Chinatown smith street market and no other stalls do it as well as them .

They only have 2 items on their menu - chee cheong fun or yam cake . Go for the chee cheong fun and give the yam cake a miss .

Prices start from Sgd 1.50 but I would say go for the Sgd 2.00 option for a better portion .
