Lu Rou Fan is comfort food 101. There’s some spice (star anise?) in the braising sauce here. It’s not your straight-up soya sauce base. I’m not a huge fan of chains and franchises but if you’re looking for homely food in Kallang Wave Mall this is stick-to-ribs good. The beverages here can get a tad pricey, but if you have this for lunch you’ll already be on your way to a massive food coma.

Came here with eatigo discount of 30% off during dinner hours. Food was average, not too great or subpar either. The braised pork dish had a strong herbal taste, which tasted differently from my impression of the braised pork rice that I had in Taiwan! Salted chicken cubes was by far the best dish over the other two. Sesame chicken vermicelli was not bad, but gravy wasn’t starchy which was what I was looking for. Overall a rating of 6/10.

The 鹽酥雞 just tasted like crispy chicken, the salt flavour wasn’t very distinct and lacked flavour.

The noodles were pretty smooth and the soup was quite flavourful but there were only 2 slices of beef in this! The herbal duck mee sua was good though, I’ll order that if I ever eat here again haha. They have one for one with entertainer so the price was pretty ok.

The noodles were too soft for me, and the gravy could not cover the lye taste completely. Got a lot of braised pork belly that was not too fatty. Good meat fat ratio. Tender and delicious. I enjoyed this bowl.

This was not the creamy type, which I hoped translated into less calories. Pork chop was still crispy and I think there were slivers of eggs. Not very cheesy, which made it not salty. Rice was nice.
