The braised pork is flavourful with a melt in the mouth texture. Their chili is spicy, shiok! However, the rice is soft and lumpy.

Fond memories of having this luroufan in Taiwan!! Hence imagine my happiness when I found out they opened an outlet in AMK hub. For just $4.90, you get a savoury box of luroufan, with fatty bits that you can slurp up together with the zhap. Plus it comes with half an egg.

Will definitely come back more often!!!(no need to travel to Taiwan for this anymore)

Only wish is that they have a place to dine in

I personally have not tried their original braised pork rice in Taiwan but the version served here (M-$4.90,L-$5.90) is pretty good! The braised pork is flavourful with a melt in the mouth texture! Other noteworthy items include the Kong Rou rice (M-$5.90,L-$7.40) and Golden Chicken Chop ($4.20), which is crispy and very well seasoned.

Love a good bowl of LU Rou Fan? 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️ If you havnt already heard, the famous 金峰卤肉饭 from Taiwan has landed in Singapore! 🇸🇬 Jiak by 金峰 opens at AMK Hub & here's what they have to offer! 🌟
.
Each of the above mains comes with rice or beehoon, egg & pickles! 👍🏻
.
To complete your meal, you can also get a combo by topping up:
🔹️Golden Chicken Wing ($1.60, U.P. $1.80)
🔹️Golden Chicken Chop ($3.90, U.P. $4.20)
🔹️Rou Geng ($2.90, U.P. $3.90)
.
My verdict? MUST TRY! 💯 Absolutely loved their Lu Rou Fan - even my mum gave her stamp of approval! 👍🏻 Made with pork jowl, their braised meat has a nice lean-fat ratio that renders an irresistible tenderness! ❤ It is savoury goodness in every bite, especially when eaten with the pearl rice 🍚 that has absorbed the essence of the gravy! 🤤🤤🤤 The tangy pickled cucumbers helps to cut the heaviness of the meats! 🥒
.
Their Rou Geng boasts of a pleasant QQ bouncy chew & nice peppery taste. ✔ Made with pork collar meat with fish paste, blended & hand-pulled into strips, this sure is a premium eat! 💕
.
Cant go wrong with their fried chicken chop & wing! 🐓 Using chicken thigh meat & their own recipe, it explains why their 鸡扒 is so juicy & tender, crisp on the exterior with just a thin layer of batter! 😋😋😋
.
Taking things to a whole new level is their homemade Singapore chilli sauce 🌶 which really packs a punch! 🔥
.
Will definitely be back for more! 👍🏻 Cant wait to see them onboard onto GrabFood & introduce their CNY Bundles (for 5/10/15pax) 🧧 They open half-day ~4pm on CNY eve & reopens on Day2 of CNY! 👌🏻

One of the most beloved Taiwanese staple that works wonders whenever we are feeling a little under the weather, a bowl of Braised Pork Belly Rice is just the thing to get us through the day. And to curb that craving, Jiak by 金峰’s Lu Rou 香菇卤肉, presented with half of a braised egg and pickles, comes with the option of rice or Bee Hoon ($4.9/M, $5.9/L).
.
Comforting and authentic, the ingredients used are sourced specially from Taiwan to keep the flavours as close to the original stall in Nanmen Market. Cut into thin longish strips instead of the common chunks, their version allows for a better distribution of meat and fat in each spoonful. I personally enjoy my pork belly with a slightly higher fat-to-meat ratio and Jiak by 金峰’s food kiosk concept at AMK Hub certainly delivered, even the leaner parts were well-braised. Extremely tender, the pork also carried the distinct taste of cinnamon and star anise - not too sweet and most importantly it didn’t feel heavy or sinful. Drenched in the spiced sauce, the warm, plump pearl rice was very satisfying too.

What’s more, top-up and make it a Combo Meal with choices like their Golden Chicken Chop ($3.70, $4.20/a la carte), Golden Chicken Wing ($1.60, $1.80/a la carte) or Rou Geng ($2.90, $3.90/a la carte). The chicken chop being both succulent on the inside and crisp on the outside. Well-seasoned, it was sizable for the price point and I enjoyed the fact that the batter was fairly thin.

Thank you @eatjiak !

Bringing in some legit Taiwanese food to the AMK Hub F&B scene, Jiak served up some familiar comfort food from renowned Taiwanese brand 金峰魯肉飯 which was based in Taipei.

I had very high expectations of 魯肉飯 (Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice), so I thought I would just settle for their 焢肉饭 (S$5.90 for Medium size) which also looked quite delicious. But thinking that I would probably just get a portion of rice with one slab of braised meat, I decided to add on that Golden Chicken Chop which costed additional S$3.70.

Wow!

Although I had not tried 金峰魯肉飯 personally, and I felt that the braised meat could be a little more tender, I was surprised with how everything came together nicely like I was having a Railway Bento, complete with some pickled cucumber and half a braised egg. The Golden Chicken Chop did not pale in comparison as it was lightly coated with batter and was sufficiently juicy. In fact, with one whole piece of chicken thigh covering the surface of the food, I was actually having slight difficulty trying to organise my food for easy consumption.

To conclude, there was definitely some components done very well for this takeaway stall. And it gave me some confidence in trying their Lu Rou Rice the next round.
