One other dessert we had was the double-boiled lemongrass soup with peach gum, which comprised a lemongrass-flavoured hot soup with peach jellies. Don't be deceived by its name, as the soup is generally on the sweeter side with only subtle notes of lemongrass in it. However, we love the soup as the citrusy flavour of the lemongrass wasn't too overwhelming, and it was a warm and comforting drink to end off our meal at Elemen!

Highly recommend the 5-course set meal as it is really value-for-money, as we get 5 pretty great dishes for only $28++!

Dessert was the classic tiramisu, comprising ladyfingers soaked in coffee, mascarpone cheese and cocoa powder! We loved the dessert as the coffee was rather pronounced and the ladyfingers weren't too soft/wet. That being said, we actually like alcohol-infused tiramisu cakes more! 😁

For our drinks, we ordered the iced pink grapefruit, as Jon is a fan of the fruit. The drink was sour, but it wasn't as sour as expected, and we suspect the juice might have been diluted slightly. That being said, we still loved the drink as it was really refreshing after the hot soup and Mee sua that we had in our previous two dishes! This drink is definitely not for those who can't take sour food and drinks well and you would be better off with a sweet drink, like the iced peach osmanthus instead!

For our main item, we had the mee sua in herbal broth, which was an outlet-exclusive item according to the staff (totally one of the reasons we ordered it)! The serving of mee sua was just right and we were thankful that it wasn't too much as those noodles can really fill your tummy fast! While the dish included a generous serving of mushrooms, our favourite part of the dish was the herbal broth, which was lightly bitter and really drinkable!

Do eat your mee sua quickly because the noodles can become soggy really fast! 😋

The soup tasted lightly sweet, presumably from the boiling of the red dates and longans. The soup also contained a generous serving of shiitake mushrooms, which we really liked!

As we were lucky enough to be at Elemen on a weekday afternoon, we decided to order the 5-course set, which is not available for dinner on weekdays, as well as on weekends. The set meal starts with an appetiser, which Elemen changes occasionally.

The current set of appetisers was launched on 18 March, and it comprised (1) jelly in apple-flavoured sauce (2) dragonfruit and (3) cherry tomato in sour plum sauce. While the appetisers certainly look pretty, they taste pretty unique! They bring you on a roller-coaster ride of flavours - sweet, followed by salty and ending off with a sour item. Our favourite was the first item, as the apple-flavoured sauce had a pronounced sweetness, although it might be strange to start your meal with a dish akin to dessert.
