First time here!!
First of all, the place - super ulu for the both of us (1hr+ journey) so that’s the reason why it took us the longest time to come here 🤣 BUT, we are glad we made it here!
Ambience wise - not the best but you do see many families hanging out here (probably due to the Taekwondo classroom next door) which it’s such a pleasant sight! I guess it’s quite a family friendly place uh
Food wise - portion is super generous, we were damn full after the meal. Pasta was slightly on the saltier side, filled with several chunks of beef but not the short rib kind that I was expecting (with soft bones and all).. Pork ribs was super tender! The meat and bone tears off without much effort. Portion is about half a rack of ribs :) Love the wedges too, super crispy!!
Price wise - slightly on the pricier side. Slightly better with Burpple beyond deals but am abit puzzled with the bill. So the 1-for-1 discount is the lower-value dish + GST, and the service charge is for both the dishes. But what I don’t get is, they charged GST on the service charge?!?! Our bill came up to be around $36 after the discount which is still pricey comparing to other cafes so… will only come once in awhile I guess :’)
Whether it was for a date night or a casual gathering, Eleven Strands offered a few types of desserts that would not leave the table unfinished.
Their Sticky Date Pudding (S$14.00) had hit the right notes, perhaps because I enjoyed the vanilla ice cream that drizzled over the pudding, plus the crumbles that added some texture together with the fragrant butterscotch sauce.
Though I absolutely enjoyed their pasta, I found their Mushroom Risotto (S$24.00) equally great. Featuring mixed mushrooms, asparagus, garlic, onions and parsley, this mains packed intense flavours of the shrooms. Given the richness of the stock, it was pretty fortunate that I could finish the plate before it had gotten too “gelak”.

Pastas were very fragrant. Price is on the higher end and so, most probably will only visit this restaurant when there is Burpple Deals.
We don't think this is a place for people to have comfortable conversations. Haha. When it's full, the chatters seem loud and echoey. We had to raise our voices if we wanted to be heard.
Even tho the mains carry a hefty price, it didn't live up to the quality we expected. We felt that the tagliatelle was al dente and worth the add-on!
The beef short rib pasta flavour was mild, and the the Tuscan chicken pasta might be better with less garlic slices, tho nothing special in flavour. Eating at a kopitiam western stall might be more worth your money tbh
Ribs were fantastic, size was quite big! The meat was quite tender (could be even more tender, fall off the bones kind, but that’d be pushing it) and the potato wedges were nicely fried. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Appreciated the corn at the side, it gave a nice balance to the dish. Really colourful and bright too!
Girlfriend ate the “Frutti di mare”. Sauce was tomato-based, tons of ingredients that made up the purée sauce. It was nice, though the girlfriend didn’t quite enjoy it.
A jug of water was given to us too, such a nice service by the cafe. We also ordered a side drink of “sunshine glow”. It was a strong blend of mango flavours, and you’ll probably get an overdose of vitamin C from drinking it!
With Burpple, paid about $44 total. Girlfriend says she’d like to eat the ribs, while I’d probably like to try another main the next round. Price may be a bit steep if going without Burpple. Will be back to try more pastas!
