From the Burpple community

Very filling for $22! Even more worth with the 1-for-1 mains using Burpple. Personally, a little too much brioche compared to eggs and parma ham, but it’s still worth a try.

Soft and fluffy sourdough bread, juicy and flavourful sausage, chunky bacon, fresh kale salad, roasted baby potatoes and a generous serving of scrambled eggs. Perfect spot for a brunch before a walk at the neighbouring Botanic Gardens☺☺

Never had crème brûlée french toast before (didn’t even really know such a combo was possible) but this was the highlight of our meal!

Highly recommend ordering this delicious breakfast dessert if you’re at @elixir.boutiqueroasters. The french toast is soft and fluffy (albeit not really eggy like you might expect…) and the creme brulee is chef’s kiss. Loved the fruits as well.

As for the spaghetti bolognese, the description said beef ragu which was what I was expecting but actually it’s spaghetti bolognese and not beef ragu - they are two completely different things. Consensus was that it’s quite mediocre and I think steep at $18++, not worth ordering, anyone could make it at home. Portion size is a bit too much (even for two people) and the flavour is a little bland although the pasta is al dente. There’s much better pasta in the vicinity over at Da Paolo or Atlas Coffeehouse. I probably should have ordered beef rendang instead. Might try that next time. Also, this place has more of a nighttime/bar kind of vibe rather than a daytime cosy/brunch kind of feel to it.

The brunch menu over ay Elixir Boutique Roasters isn't as extensive as the many other cafes along the Botanic Gardens/Bukit Timah area but what they lack in quantity, they make up for in quality.

Just take a look at this absolutely gorgeous Brulee French Toast. Decked out in seasonal fruits and chantilly cream, the French toast is scented in Madagascar vanilla as well. Yum, the only thing missing was a scoop of ice-cream and a drizzle of honey.

liked how fragrant the rempah sauce was on the tender pieces beef cheeks! tried this for the first time and i’d rate this a 5/10... felt like the coconut in their their blue pea coconut rice could’ve been more intense and the grains could’ve been much firmer. didn’t enjoy eating the rice because it was mushy which was a big no from me. fried egg was also v dry and felt like they fried a bunch beforehand and left it out at the side. nothing much to shoutout for their achar and koropok too which explains why it’s a 5/10 for me.
