Yummy wanton noodles at Eng Seng Restaurant. Fried wantons are huge and packed with big and succulent prawns and noodles are al dente.
Unlike other versions where you’d usually end up fighting over the little portion of dried up sauce, this one is thick and gravy-like. It starts off initially with a distinct slight sweetness like a deep rich caramel, before the earthy peppery notes start humming in the background for attention, with just enough prominence. It was about $78 for a medium-sized crab, which was already quite meaty. Also, you should call ahead to reserve your crabs, just to be safe. Top stuff. @engsengfirstgradeseafood

Delicious black pepper crabs, good food, reasonable prices. They also have the mee goreng that you must try also.
Operating on limited supply, this kway chap stall usually runs out of the local favourite pig parts by the afternoon. This portion fits around 9-10 people on the table, each with a bowl of kway.
I find the innards well cleaned and the braised sauce simple yet just enough flavor that brings forth a comforting feeling within us.
While I'm not a full fledged fan of kway chap, issue being whether the innards are cleaned properly, I do enjoy trying out the various parts of the pig when it's done properly.
Loved how meaty the crabs were. The eggs in the chilli sauce was so goooood💓 But maybe too much starch was added, the sauce turned a bit too sticky and lumpy after a while. Overall it was not bad!
Really the best way to enjoy life over huge meaty crabs and black peppers. The sauce was so good that we literally dipped our sides in it to relish every drop of it:)
