For students who frequent the industrial area across Sunway University, Espression8 is a close-by sanctum to enjoy quiet mornings alone with a cup of coffee. Bring a book, or an unfinished college assignment, to set up camp here with a cup of their bestseller S'mocha (RM11) — a soothing hot mocha sprinkled with mini marshmallows. If the morning hunger pangs hit, the cafe also has a selection of simple yet hearty pastas and breakfast dishes at super affordable prices — try the creamy Tagliatelle Spinach Chicken Pasta (RM12.90).

If you love creamy sauce pasta, I would highly recommend their Tagliatelle Spinach Chicken (RM12.90). Food is cheap and affordable, mainly because there are many students around this area

Remember my last post about their pasta? Well look who decided to come back to try other things. Once again, even though it was my second time here, they did not have pancakes. Honestly tho, at this point, are you perhaps using instant pancake batter?

So I ended up getting a Smoked Salmon Hollandaise (RM 11.90) and boy oh boy was I in for a ride.

2 things I can't eat on this planet - coffee and overcooked anything.

I love eggs, I really do. But an overcooked egg. Poachdd egg, is something I will not forgive. At pierce, the yolk does flow out, but if the amount of yolk equivalent to a few drops you're looking for then yes. The hollandaise can't really be called a hollandaise really, it's just yolk. The egg yolks, to my horror were overcooked and cooked with way too much vinegar that the whole thing tasted like a vinegar salad. With egg.

Excuse me while I whip up a quick pasta to soothe my sad tastebuds.

A friend was telling me how I should check this place out because it served carbonara at RM 10.90. And check it out I did. Tho this isn't technically carbonara (I'm talking about the real carbonara with no cream and uses pancetta or guanciale), this (Tagliatella Spinach Chicken) is as close to cheap carbonara as cheap carbonara gets. Lots of Parmesan (everyone's favourite pasta) cheese and egg yolk as well a just a dash of cream. Not too much sauce that it drowns the pasta and enough sauce that the Tagliatella is able to coat each strand. Not too fond of the chicken ham (it probably would have tasted better if it were bacon. Or pancetta... or even spam that has been lightly stir-fried) and the fact that my spinach chicken came with no spinach. But alas. For RM 10.90 for a plate of creamy pasta, you have little to complain about.

Other than the fact that it makes me sick of it (jelak) easily, it is a tad bit too salty with the sauce and ham.

Ps: I suggest sharing if you don't like creamy foods.

Shall I compare thee to a slice of cheesecake? Because you taste exactly like one!

That was what I was thinking the moment I bit into the Mango Peach Yoghurt Cake (RM 9.50) from Espression8 cafe. Opposite Rock cafe, Espression8 was recommended by a friend for their pancakes. And that was what I wanted to try.... if they had it in stock that is... apparently the pancakes had not arrived for the day (which puzzles me... you mean they don't make it in the kitchen?!) So I settled for a slice of cake instead.

The cake tasted like cheesecake. Not a hint of the sourness from the yoghurt I'm used to when consuming anything with the word "yoghurt" in it. The taste of the peach and mango was slight. Just a hint as it hits your tongue the moment you put it into your mouth and then proceed to be taken over by the richness of the cheese. The chocolate sauce and strawberry sauce which is used to write some fancy words in cursive as well as a (scary) smiley face for decoration actually goes well with the cake. If you feel your cake is a little too plain and tastes like Jerry's cheese stash, you could try wiping the plate with your cake. I guarantee you have nothing to lose.

However if you ordered this thinking something slightly sour and creamy coming out of this, you will be as disappointed as the day your significant other forgot your birthday. As a cheesecake... it doesn't really prove to be much as well.

It was like having a one night stand. She wasn't bad. But she wasn't someone I want to see again willingly. Because there are "many other fishes in the sea".
