Nestled within the heartlands of Ang Mo Kio, @e.stationcafe is a relatively new addition to the hipster café scene in Singapore. Offering a variety of cuisines that’s primarily Western, there is surely something for everyone here.

Featured are the mains that we ordered.
👉ES Café Otak with Butterfly Pea Pearl Rice👈
👉Cod Fish & Chips👈
👉Teriyaki Chicken Steak👈
👉Chilli Crab Crayfish Spaghetti👈

Although there was nothing much to shout about in general, I’d recommend getting their Otak with Butterfly Pea Pearl Rice. Not only was it visually arresting, I like how every ingredient came together in a marriage of delicious flavours. As for the Chilli Crab Crayfish Spaghetti dish, I wished that the pasta had a firmer bite, but I’m so glad that the crayfish meat was fresh and succulent.

😣 Speaking of which, this reminds me of the ‘Nasi Lemak’ which I had 2 months back @estationcafe! 🤤 Plating resembles a Nasi Lemak but it’s actually Butterfly Pea Pearl rice (minus the coconut flavour), chicken satay, achar, prawn cakes and my favourite component of all - FISH OTAH! (swipe for a zoomed in view🤩). The thick slab of handmade Muar Fish Otah is umami-packed, flavourful with an aromatic tinge of spice factor! 🔥 A great complement to the pearl rice, though I would gladly have another portion of this in silo! 💖 Of course, the other accompanying elements were enjoyable as well, with tender grilled chicken satay in a sweet nutty sauce, tangy and slightly spicy achar, along with crispy prawn crackers to end off the meal! 👍🏻 Definitely dish that I would come back for again if I am in the vicinity! .
.
Thanks @estationcafe for the warm hospitality, awesome food and @missionsgcafes for extending the invite! 🙆🏻‍♀️.

Cafe Otak with Butterfly Pea Pearl Rice {$11.90} The blue tinged rice certainly catches attention, but it’s the generously slices otak that is the real star of the dish. Hope the other ingredients will match up to the promising visual feast in time.

As one of the highest priced items on the menu {$17.90}, this dish pulls no punches in the spice department. While it was too spicy for my liking, it could be a good idea for Estation Cafe to introduce different levels of spice to suit individual tastes.

Whenever I see crayfish pasta, I get reminded of Swensen’s cuz that is my dad’s ultimate all-time favourite. 🤣 So with that in mind, here’s how I think EStation Café’s rendition of Chilli Crab Crayfish Spaghetti ($17.90) fared in comparison! 👌🏻
.
Features 2 halves of crayfish in Singapore Chilli Crab sauce, this plate of pasta had a quite a spicy kick 🔥 but I find it very manageable (shld be good for most people!). Unlike Swensen’s version which had fish fillets, crabsticks etc, this one focused on the crayfish, which was sufficiently meaty & springy.😍😍😍
.
Instead of a tomato sauce, they spiced things up with Chilli Crab sauce, which retained the pleasant sweet & tangy flavours but with an added seafood umami. 😋 Coat the firm strands of spaghetti in this luscious sauce & enjoy! The portion is decent for 1 pax.
.
Overall, Swensens wins hands-down IMO in terms of variety & quantity. While ES Cafe's rendition was not bad at all, this is probably something to work on for better value-for-money! 😊
