With the travel VTL still not yet opened for Taiwan, this is one of the places that you can visit to get a taste of Taiwanese cuisine. Furthermore, each of the Isshin Machi’s outlets has a unique theme to it and the one over at GR.iD mall is dedicated to Taiwanese Mando Pop music which is recognizable from the huge wall mural in the restaurant. The menu has a wide variety of familiar local cuisine such as the Hakka-style Braised Meat Rice ($9) that is packed with a generous serving of braised pork belly, braised egg, and preserved vegetables over a bed of rice and the Signature Taiwanese Braised Beef Noodles ($12) that has the option to change to the Guan Miao Noodles with an additional top-up of $1.

To accompany the mains, there are sides and snacks such as the iconic Crispy Chicken Cutlet ($9.80) that has been seasoned with a salt and pepper mixture, Shrimp & Pork Wontons with Fiery Chilli Oil ($7) that caters to the Singaporeans’ palate, unique Moon Shape Prawn Cake ($11), Salt and Pepper Green Beans ($5) and the cold appetizer of Cucumber with Spicy Garlic Dressing ($4.30). Entering into the Isshin Machi’s world is like being transported to Taiwan for that brief moment which is very comforting and enjoyable at this very moment.
