Lucca’s pride themselves on being authentic italian cuisine, and I’m pretty sure it’s as authentic as it can get in Singapore. Similar to this carbonara, it tastes authentic. Creamy but not from those prepacked Alfredo cream sauce, genuinely tossed in egg yolk and cheese. Great char to the pasta, probably from the bacon - wait bacon !? I guess this is how it differs from the authentic carbonara dish with guanciale. Nonetheless, I am not a purist when it comes to carbonara - and this carbonara by Lucca’s serves as a testament that even if you’re not 100% authentic, it’s equally delicious as well. I Guess the only gripe I have is that it’s too small!😂
