I saw a lot of photos and posters on bun cha in the restaurant, and so I ordered it without thinking twice. It's essentially a "Vietnamese soba", where one has to dip in the rice vermicelli into the light refreshing broth. The dish was popularised by a Facebook video where Anthony Bourdain gave Barack Obama a crash course in Vietnamese food.
And I immediately fell in love with the broth! The sweet and slightly tangy soup was lip-smacking good, and with extra chopped garlic & chilli padi, the broth came out light and refreshing. Another highlight was their char grilled pork patty which was juicy and well-seasoned. And do get yourself a glass of their iced lemongrass-pandan as it was super duper refreshing and nice after such a flavourful meal.
