Nasi Lemak ($4)
.
It’s great to be able to decide swiftly on what to eat and even better when the right choice is made. @NasiLemakKukus is a hipsterish eatery serving up traditional nasi lemak amidst dangly lights strewn across the ceiling and giving that primary school canteen vibe except that you won’t find a buffet of fried food goodness ready for your picking. Aside from the nasi lemak set comprising a chicken wing, small fried fish (ikan kuning), egg omelette wedge and a scoop of ikan bilis, there are many other choice of ingredients that one would only be too tempted to pick. I couldn’t help piling the superbly crispy fried chicken skin (+$1 for 4pcs) and ordering a cup of rose syrup (+$1.20) to complete my road to fat-dom. What’s even more remarkable is the freeflow coconut rice that’s steamed the traditional way and the 2 types of sambal that had me returning to the counter for a 2nd dose.
