I was beguiled here by the establishment's whimsical introduction on Burpple, which promised Southern hospitality and plates of southern picks like buttermilk chicken & waffles, Cajun fries, country fried steak, and sweet tea.

The interior was casual but atmospheric, and we were sat at a table on top of a beer keg. I really enjoyed the song choices too, which was full of energetic bluesy picks. Unfortunately, our long-eyelashed, manicured server seemed to have a penchant for keeping straight-faced and refraining from supplying us with pleases and thank-yous.

Luckily, the food was quite enjoyable and I really recommend it with the Burpple Beyond deal.

The Southern fried chicken was well fried and crispy all over while remaining juicy and tender inside. The skin was soaked in a 24h brine, so it was tasty and marinated well enough to eat without any dip. Nonetheless, the chicken is served with country gravy (a little watery) and southern slaw (very creamy).

The farm boy burger had a thick patty which I got at medium doneness, and was reasonably juicy and held together well too. Sadly, the fries were quite mediocre because they were too thin and the seasoning wasn't very inspiring. I prefer Popeye's Cajun fries much more.

Also, there are happy hour deals for items like a highball or bottled beer for $7, so that's another reason to go and savour the Southern comfort food here!
