Taking over the former premises of O’Coffee Club at Orchard Point (the building better known for being OG Orchard) is Rabbit & Fox — a new cafe-sequel concept by the same folks behind LiHo — this new non-air conditioned establishment serves up teapresso with very similar offerings compared to its parent; think various types of tea with a variety of toppings to choose from, including the CheezHO, whilst offering hot food items to go along for those feeling peckish.

The Pork Bratwurst Rosti is one of the few items that would make for a good brunch plate — featuring two slabs of squarish potato cakes that seems small cubes of potatoes pressed into the shape that it takes, the potato cakes come with melted cheese, whilst accompanied by a Pork Bratwurst, sautéed mushrooms and a garden salad. Felt that the “Rosti” isn’t quite a Rosti here with its presentation and execution, but the potato cake filled with cubes of potato almost akin to a hashbrown was undoubtedly soft to the bite; the crusty cheese on the exterior does replicate the crispness of a usual Rosti somewhat — still a rather tasty dish despite being a little off from the usual Rosti. The cheese does come all stringy and melty within, laced within the small cubes of potato but its a dish to be had while its hot off the grill, considering the cheese does harden up a bit once the dish is left out there for a while. Otherwise, the Pork Bratwurst is decent; not too gamey and sufficiently meaty; the sautéed mushrooms were a little bit on the dry side but still savoury and saltish enough, though the garden salad could do with a bit of dressing to make it a tad more appetising. Found the sour cream to be pretty intriguing here; comes slightly savoury, and with a dash of pepper to provide a very mild kick when had together with the Rosti — fairly interesting.

It’s probably LiHo’s first foray into a full-service cafe; the staggered seating on the steps in the dine-in area right beside one of OG Orchard’s entrance to the basement level does add some character to the spot, though hidden away from the main street — something I liked for how it’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Road. While the Rosti felt a little far from the usual we are used to, Rabbit & Fox does serve a pretty decent rendition that can be said to be unique to their own. A spot that is worth considering for brunch and bubble tea whilst in the heart of town.
