On 19th November 2019 at around 1245pm, my colleague and I visited Starbucks at The Central. My colleague needed to get 12 gift cards, to which a young malay guy in glasses was kindly assisting her. He took out a bunch card with different designs to choose from.

All of a sudden, a Malay lady wearing a hijab (Tried to look for her name but can't seems to locate her name tag at all) came over and said we have to contact the management in order to purchase 12 gift cards because the outlet is only allowed to sell 10 cards (i assume its per customer because if its per outlet, it is just ridiculous. If only can sell 10 then what for have 50 over cards stored at your store???).

I was ordering my drink at the next counter. Upon hearing such ridiculous statement, i stepped in to offered to buy 6 gift cards and asked my colleague can proceed to buy the other 6. The Malay lady took a few sec to react and finally came up with a lame excuse that the register will recognize it (DUH OFCOURSE I KNOW THAT. So i guess she is trying to say the outlet can only sell 10 cards. ). Should have challenged her and ask if a new customer come in and buy a gift card 2 hours later, is she going to tell her the outlet has reached the limit LOL.

The poor malay guy who was assisting us initially seems shocked and stuck in the middle too. We didnt pursue further as we couldnt confirm if management really imposed such stupid policy and didnt want to fault the innocent employees.

However, we managed to get all 12 cards at another outlet. Either Starbucks have no service consistency or the Malay lady at The Central's Starbucks is a lazy ass b**** with low EQ.
