A hole-in-the-wall Japanese ramen joint serving only 100 bowls per day, Enishi certainly delivered with their concise 2-item menu.

A lighter alternative to the typical full-bodied tonkotsu ramen broth, the soup stock of Enishi’s Japanese Dashi Noodles ($15.90/basic, $17.90/regular, $19.90/special) is derived from "Kombu" (edible kelp) and dried goods. Light, sweet and clean-tasting, the soup was incredibly comforting and drinkable yet still chockfull of flavour. The bits of Yuzu adding that refreshing hint of citrusy zing was a great touch. Well-executed, the proteins were pretty substantial. Loving that seared char, I enjoyed the fact that the cha shu was tender and not too porky. The sliced smoked duck was succulent and savoury too.
