For $5.80, you get a generous amount of braised pork belly over Japanese rice. Braised for more than 24 hours, every mouthful is filled with flavours of the spices used, especially that of star anise and cinammon. There was a slight tinge of sourness, which we were thinking could be the soy sauce that was used. We thought the texture of the lean meat portions was still a tad too tough, but overall this is still very close to a good traditional bowl of braised pork rice in taiwan. Highly recommend this place for anyone who's missing Taiwanese food and in the area.
