Forget about Lola’s Cafe and come here for a more hearty meal instead. This teochew porridge is one of my family’s favourites. Some must orders: the lu rou (braised pork belly) - one of the softest, melt-in-your-mouth meats EVER, the duck, and surprisingly, the tofu in the bottom right of this photo. It has a slightly crispy “tau gwa” like skin, but the tofu inside is the silken type and it’s amazing with the slightly sweet sauce around it. My parents also love the otah because it has bigger fish chunks in it than normal.
