The houjicha flavour was mild and barely detectable, with the bulk of flavours derived from cinnamon instead (which I am not a fan of 😕). Perhaps also due to the fact that I am a hardcore houjicha fan, but even my dining partner agreed that the houjicha flavour was really subtle and not distinct. This time round, the texture had more improvement though, after my previous experience with a dry one. The one I had here was more moist and fully soaked, a soft and pudding-like interior beneath a crisp, crusty danish-like flaky exterior that’s garnished with sprinkles of nuts. A vanilla ice cream was also served alongside, which I actually enjoyed it much more than the bread pudding@😅. It was smooth, creamy and milky with a lingering fragrance and essence of vanilla (look at that black specks of vanilla pod 😍!). Nevertheless, for the anti-houjicha fans, this might be an ideal dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth and cravings.
[PS: Even though @vxx.co had ceased operations and would be relocating, the new outlet would still be serving drinks and some desserts too, from what I heard from them ☺️. ] Looking forward to their new dessert creations which hopefully... would be more impressive 😬. .
