I also got to learn about other social initiatives in Singapore such as RunningHour (my friend tried walking blindfolded through a short obstacle course) and I'm Soul Inc, who uses a motion sensor music-making device Soundbeam to engage the elderly and disabled to create their own music. I tried it out - it's like having an invisible drum set, and the sounds/beats are formed by passing my hands over the sensors and tapping feet on the pedals, quite tough but intriguing for psychomotor-challenged me 😝

There was also a pop-up market, where I got to meet the folks from Ugly Cake Shop again! They've been sponsoring the nutrition fund of a school in Timor Leste since the start of their business, feeding the malnourished kids. What started as a small class with a handful of students has grown to a school of over 300 youths, hence a growing fund as well.

The festival may have ended, but the festivities for #DineForGood continue the rest of August. Ugly Cake Shop is offering 10% off all available cupcakes in store (except the 6pc box price)! Featured in the pic are Vicki (salted egg yolk custard), Jamie (earl grey with orange blossom whipped cream), and my favourite Carmen (lemon coconut meringue) cuz I'm a sucker for tart and sweet notes. Yes, Vicki comes with a flowing centre, heated before serving. But how are these prettily piped cupcakes 'ugly'? Well, there aren't any artificial colouring or fondant used in the cupcakes for "beautification", hence the contradictory name. Nah, give me natural and quality flavouring any time!

Thanks @Burpple for the invite, and @raiSEsg and @uglycakeshop for hosting the tasting! #Burpple
