Hojicha waffle ($9.50) ⭐️ 3/5 ⭐️
Buttermilk waffle ($6) + 1 scoop ($3.50) ⭐️ 3.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Gave this a try as #burpplebeyond 1-1 made it highly affordable. The waffle is more of the crispy variation, pretty forgettable in taste, and lacked fluff/airyness which I look for in a waffle 😅. The #hojichasoftserve (on top a half-sized deconstructed waffle) was too sweet for me and lacking the strong roasted tea aroma that I was hoping for. It had only a hint of roasted flavour in the aftertaste but not much start/body to it (oops describing it like a wine but not sure how else to describe the lack of richness. The cookies & cream pocky didn’t do much besides add aesthetically although I did enjoy the pairing of the slightly bitter and soft brownie that gave a nice balance. We chose #yamicecream (note: tasting of ice cream flavours is not allowed) and enjoyed the strong yam flavours although one scoop/ the huge buttermilk waffle wasn’t enough ratio-wise so we’d recommend getting two scoops/ waffle. Overall: enjoyable sweet waffles in a nice cozy cafe great for hanging with friends, but probably not that worth the $ if not for the 1-1 😅
