My family agreed that “there is much of Katong- Joo Chiat that we must have yet to explore”; this as we found one of the better banana breads at Werner’s. I first learnt about the place on social media, vaguely remembering a unique video interview with the lady owner; as I stepped into Werner’s, there she appeared before my eye.
How we found ourselves here? After dinner at a neighbouring Vietnamese restaurant, we stumbled upon the place while walking around to digest. Lo and behold that nondescript loaf turned out to be an utterly satisfying, dense sweetened bread that has been the family’s morning joy for the past few days.
