@onkei.tonkatsu serves authentic tonkatsu primarily and they have 5 in-house policies that illustrate their restaurant’s food standard. In short, the fresh meat has to go through a long ageing process, seasoned with natural ingredients, and finally fried in light & clean vegetable oil with fresh crispy breadcrumbs. You also have a choice between Japanese rice or Hokkaido imported multi-grains rice at no extra cost.😉

With the use of lean pork loin, we feared tough and dry meat but fortunately, they turned out to be tender and pretty juicy too. As we had to do takeaway during P2HA, the headlining tonkatsu still remained crispy after almost an hour. For me, I preferred the mentaiko over their cheese version and if you’re a mentaiko lover like myself, do order their Mentai Tamago too!😋👍
