The folks behind Apiary at Neil Road had just opened a new outlet in the heartlands — their new space is more of a takeaway kiosk, taking over the former space of the now-defunct The Açai Craft; dine-in space is limited to two seats by the window that faces the interior of the mall.

Given the size of the space, it is needless to say that they do not serve their waffles at this outlet, but otherwise the selection of ice-creams are pretty much the same as what is being offered at Neil Road — think signatures like their Blue Milk, Apiary, and Caramalised Strawberry; the ice-creams being offered in either cone, cup or with the brioche bun as per the options available at their original space along Neil Road. The Brown Butter & Pecan is one of their newer flavours also available at Neil Road — a saltish-sweet ice-cream with a milk base that is churned with browned butter for a slight hint of buttery flavour. There is quite a generous load of chewy pecans that come with each scoop, providing a slight nuttiness that gives the flavour a good flavoural and textural contrast.

Apiary’s new space at Jubilee Square also serves up specialty coffee brewed from beans roasted by 2 Degrees North Coffee Co., Gryphon teas and other beverages which are also available at their original space at Neil Road — glad that they have a space in the heartlands that will cater to their existing audience that would bring those residing near or within Ang Mo Kio convenience for their ice-creams, whilst also establishing themselves with the folks whom have yet to hear about that in this new neighbourhood that they found home in.
