The black sesame filling is sure to appeal to fans of black sesame and goma. It’s got a ground sesame seed texture rather than a paste, so it’s bursting with strong nutty black sesame aroma and flavour with every bite. There’s not much sweetener added, so it tends to get a little bit bitter with each mouthful, but I found that the kueh skin balanced out the bitterness overall. If you prefer more traditional or less sweet fillings, this is a good choice!
