A monthly special dessert exclusively available at the @orchardcentral ‘s outlet, this dessert set comprises of two baked sweet potato (purple & yellow), matcha softserve, shiratama & azuki, along with a pot of hot Houjicha tea. As a huge fan of sweet potato, I was sold as I had my first bite of these freshly baked, luscious sweet treat that satisfied my sweet tooth greatly! 😋 Coupled with a soft, thick and creamy mouthfeel, these baked sweet potatoes possessed a characteristic, pleasant natural sweetness, along with a subtle and fragrant earthy, roasted note in the purple one. The matcha softserve is smooth, creamy with a bittersweet undertone, with a distinct albeit subtle flavour that leans towards the milky, sweeter side - definitely not for the hardcore matchaholics! ⚠️ Shiratama comes with a chewy mouthfeel that was a tad too dry and tough for my liking, along with sweet azuki beans in a shallow pool of kuromitsu (black sugar honey). Don’t judge but I actually enjoyed drizzling the remaining kuromitsu sauce onto the sweet potatoes! 🤭 The hot Houji tea serves as a refreshing palate cleanser cum ending to the overall sweet dessert platter, with a lingering roasted, earthy undertone. On a side note, thanks a lot to Maccha house for the great service in offering one of this dessert platter on the house due to a miscommunication on my previous trip (where I got two yellow baked sweet potato instead of 1 purple & yellow)! 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️ .
