An added savoury twist to the classic festive snack, home-grown brand, Nibbles’ Abalone Australian Macadamia Nuts ($25/ 400g) is just the thing to stock up on this lunar new year. Comprising of shrimp and codfish seasoning, the combination does sound odd but the umami flavours strangely complemented the crunchy roasted macadamia nuts. Dusted evenly with the seasoning, the nut’s buttery taste were still evident after the initial bites where you would first be hit by the strong whiffs of abalone. Hence, the intriguing pairing essentially offering a mix of salty, sweet and pleasant nuttiness. So if you are up for a change to your usual CNY goodies, grab a bag or two at $42 for yourself to try.
