Can we take a moment to appreciate the aesthetics of the afternoon tea set from Anti:dote๐Ÿ˜? This is a special collaboration between Anti:dote and Nespresso ($55 per pax) and it features a chest of drawers packed with sweet and savoury goodies that taste as good as they look.

The most basic item on the menu is the Madagascan Vanilla Scones - they are firm on the outside, fluffy on the inside and most importantly, served warm. The slightly salted scones go really well with the classic lemon butter curd, strawberry marmalade and Devonshire clotted cream.

Moving on to the savoury treats, I like the Crustacean Rillette Herb Roll topped with Caviar - it reminds me of a mini lobster/crab roll. I also like the Mille Feuille Salmon Gravlax with Trout Roe and Dill, which is a classic Nordic appetiser. The cured salmon can be quite salty for some, but I find that it goes well with the milder savoury bites on the platter.

For sweet treats, I enjoyed the Hazelnut Vanilla Caramel Praline Bar, Mara de Bois Strawberry Cheese Mousse and Nespresso Mascarpone Choux. The flavours and textures are executed delicately and the desserts are not overly sweet, with the exception of the macarons which are way too sweet for me.

Apart from latte and cappuccino, there is a wide selection of teas to choose from and all the drinks are refillable. Although this afternoon tea set can be quite pricey, this is one of the better ones I have had, the service is good and the portion is generous - so glad we had the option of packing the treats that we could not finish. 2020 might not have been a rosy year, but may sweet endings bring sweet beginnings:)
