Pigs Organ Soup ($3.50/small)
The other stall with a comparative queue at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre is Soon Huat Pig’s Organ Soup. The soup base here is definitely less peppery than Ah Seng’s pig’s stomach soup but the portion was generous and 2nd helpings of soup is welcomed. Besides pigs organ soup, they also served braised pigs’ innards aka kuey chap but without any kuey (?!?!) which was a letdown. I did find the braised gravy too salty tasting it directly so be sure to use it for drizzling the rice instead for some added flavour. My favourite item out of both the soup and the plate of braised items has to be the braised intestines as they weren’t gamey and delivered a good juicy and springy bite.
