This sweet little thing on Bearded Bella’s menu caught our eye for firstly its fanciful name, Pain Perdu (aka fancy af French toast), and secondly a pink guava compote in a French toast. The pan-fried Brioche was fluffy, and drenched with much maple syrup. However, we struggled to detect any pink guava notes, but instead I found it more like a pink grapefruit. Additionally, it was a pretty thin layer of compote that was probably overshadowed by the sticky sweet maple syrup. Served along with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, fresh fruits and cardamom that was unfortunately undetectable as well.
