Cheesecakes ($6.90-7.90)
Overall ⭐️ 3.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Finally gave these cheesecakes a try as they’re affordable at ~$3.70/slice with #burpplebeyond 1-1 (however would say they’re quite pricey at full price because they’re pretty small in size - slices have seem to have shrunk 😕!) The group’s general favourite was the Paws of Fury (Yuan Yang; 4⭐️) which was a flavourful and well-balanced mix of aromatic tea and coffee. The Maneki Nemo (Lemon & yuzu; 3.5 ⭐️) was a close second with its refreshing citrus and strong yuzu flavour. We found the Tiramisu (2.5 ⭐️) to be dry in texture and besides the topping of cocoa and strong coffee aroma in the sponge, the cheesecake portion itself didn’t have much flavour and lacked the alcohol that we enjoy in a tiramisu. The Emperor’s Romance (Lychee; 3 ⭐️) tasted more floral (rose?) than lychee and artificial, and despite having 2 actual lychee pieces, they were frozen so it was more like ice bits 😅. Overall, would recommend not eating the cakes straight after buying as their industrial fridge is probably of a lower temperature. The cakes were all pretty frozen, making them hard and icy (almost like ice cream cheesecake which was quite enjoyable in itself in a way), and needed time out to ‘defrost’ to be more cheesecake-like.
⚠️ Only takeaway is available so we brought these to the food court to eat. Apologies for the odd socially distanced placement of these cakes as we lacked proper utensils and made do with the cake boxes 😅
