$22++ for a single serving of cod may sound like a lot but what a catch it turned out to be. Served as a single big, boneless chunk, it could be shared between two persons. And the taste was so fresh even my dad who’s Teochew and very particular about fish, had only praises. It was steamed with sliced shiitake mushroom, red dates and dried lily buds in a light soya sauce, so the natural flavour of the cod was not overshadowed. Timing of the cooking was precise, resulting in the cod’s moist, naturally oily flesh coming off in mouthwatering chunks when I applied pressure with my chopsticks.
