Got 6 of these gorgeous putu ayu in a box. They are a little pricey but always soooooo worth it. If you’ve been to Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry, you’d be no stranger to them! The steamed pandan sponge base is soft with just the right amount of “bounce”, and it’s not too dense nor too airy. The top has grated coconut and gula melaka. Loved the well balanced sweetness, so it’s not at all jelak/heavy even if you have 2 or 3 pieces at a go.

Tip! Not all the Putu Ayu have gula melaka added, some of them only have shredded coconut. Remember to double check!

Actually, it is not pricey as sugar, flour prices are on the rise.
