Survey the table for the best lighting possible. Avoid areas where there are too many shadows.

2. Ensure that the table participants are relatives so they can be accommodating. Even better if they are used to your Instagram shenanigans during non wedding eating periods.

3. Check to ensure that dining staff do not serve toy individual plates or bowls. Volunteer to distribute the food on your own for the sake of IG.

4. If an errant dining member elects to take the food before you have taken your shot, calmly stretch out your hand and form a stop sign similar to the police posters you see regularly and say "Stop" in a firm and assertive manner. Do not sound too fierce or too threatening lest you spoil the other diner's festive mood.

5. Quickly take your shot and apply extra spotlight if necessary. Having a companion with camera light will prove to be especially useful so remember to bring one.

6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 until all dishes are served.
7. Take heed to be swift so as not to be an impediment to the night's activities
