It’s been a week since Singapore’s been quarantined at home, and I’ve been slaving away as my line of work is fully capable of working from home. Naturally, I was looking for a bright spot besides my arsenal of alcohol. I found it in @capri_trattoria islandwide delivery service on @grabfoodsg . I’ve wanted to sample Capri’s piquant pasta pleasures for the longest time, but it was just so out of the way. Until now, that is.⠀

Their Pappardelle Gamberi e Capesante ($30) was the most eye catching thing on the menu, and so that’s what we’ve got here. Mind you, it probably looks better in the trattoria itself as I have the approximate plating skills of a donkey. The gamberi e capesante, which is pasta-sorry, Italian, for prawn & scallops, was as expected. They were on the small side, but there were enough of them. They were passably fresh and well cooked, and were delicious when smothered in that rich ragu of tomato that the pasta sits in.⠀

The really interesting element here is the homemade black pasta. It might be squid ink, but I can’t confirm that. What I can confirm is that it was awesomely al dente, and stunningly savoury. The pappardelle comes in sheets, and resembles lasagna sheets more than actual pappardelle. Not that I minded much, I eagerly slotted it all past-a my lips in short order once I used it to mop up that tangy tomato sauce.⠀

*kisses fingers* Belissimo.
