Durian or Matcha? π€π€ Being an anti-durian consumer but an avid fan of matcha, I was glad that looks can be deceiving at times! π
This spiky, durian-alike cake turns out to be a Matcha x White sesame flavour in disguise of a durian! β¨ . Yay or Nay? π
.
Always seeing Matcha x Black sesame but how about Matcha x WHITE sesame? π Thatβs so match-a perfect combo for me, as an anti-black sesame consumer. Ever since Iβve tried the Shirogoma (white sesame) softserve from Matchaya, I have turned into a white sesame convert and I m glad to say that the one here didnβt disappoint and was pretty impressiveππ». The white sesame mousse surrounding the matcha ganache was slightly creamy, a smooth and light texture, along with a prominent roasted flavor and lingering aroma which stole the limelight away from the other matcha elements. With a base of white sesame matcha jaconde thatβs soft, spongy and sufficiently moist, the core of matcha ganache was distinct in its characteristic earthy flavour when consumed in silo, coming with a thick and creamy texture that resembled a jam spread. On the downside, the spiky, durian-like exterior of matcha cream was mild and barely detectable in its flavour, perhaps overwhelmed by the stronger white sesame companion. If you are a white sesame lover, this cake would greatly appeal to you! π.
