This was the first time I found these two items that I like a lot, cosying up to each other on the same plate. Purists (yes @sams_blogs, I’m looking at you 😜) must have been cringing when they watched my #InstagramStory but I liked the combination.
In case you are wondering, the earthiness of the slimy fermented soya beans was muted slightly by the curry (which contained small pieces of boiled-down beef). I know it doesn’t sound palatable but it’s what I’d label as “Japanese-style stodgy comfort food”. The kind of sake/beer/whisky-soaking dish to end a night of non-stop imbibing with.
