The Kyoto delight parfait comprises of Hokkaido milk softserve, a scoop of matcha ice cream, kinako warabi mochi, shiratama, cheese cake cubes, red beans (which I had omitted) beneath a pile of cornflakes and drizzled with kuromitsu sauce. The milk softserve was smooth and creamy with a fragrant milky flavour whereas the matcha ice cream had a pleasant earthy flavour and a subtle bitter undertone. This came as a pleasant surprise as I wasn’t expecting the matcha flavour to be distinct initially. The warabi mochi was chewy, soft and wobbly with a texture resembling a hybrid of rice cake and pudding. Adding on to the chewy factor were the shiratama dango balls as well! My favourite topping here would be the cheese cake cubes that came with a crisp, buttery crust atop a soft, creamy and luscious cheesecake. Not a fan of the pile of cornflakes though, despite the crunch factor it contributed as many may have deemed mandatory (not so for me) .
