Bummer. So what did I do? I surfed the internet for recommendations and ended up at Kocik Kitchen - well, it should be good right - especially since the article ranks it as one of the top 5 Nonya Restaurants in Melaka. Well, it wasn’t...!!

Maybe I got myself to blame cos I didn’t realise that they serve halal dishes there. Nothing against them being halal - but it just isn’t Ngor Hiang when it’s made with minced chicken which made it really dry. And their Ayam Buah Keluak was no better - the chicken pieces were tough and the gravy diluted. This may sound harsh - but I think this may be the worst Ayam Buah Keluak that I’ve had. The rest of the dishes were - sigh...

But what made up for it was the ambience and colourful interior decor of the place which I really liked.

PS - I totally forgot about Aunty Lee which I know serves good Peranakan food, and my other colleagues claimed that Lin Neo Delight was pretty good too!
