Each of these dumplings are created to invoke a taste of nostalgia. The Teochew Double Delight Bak Chang has a nice balance of sweet and savoury, and each parcel is laboriously prepared by adding pork belly, shiitake mushrooms that has been first braised in a five spice blend, chestnut, homemade tau sar filling and glutinous rice, wrapped in bamboo leaves and cooked over 2.5 hours. On the other hand, the Teochew Salted Egg Bak Chang contains juicy pork belly, fried dried shrimp, chestnut, and a salted egg in it.
