For red bean lovers !
Intrigued by the cute colours of the mantou and later impressed that these are all natural colourings from fruit and vegetables -
Just dough has been my place to go to for a quick man tou recharge.
So happy that the red bean man tou is back !
It was discontinued for a while because of the extreme work required since the red bean is made from scratch and if you cook - you know the time required to cook these little imps to that creamy goodness. The red bean is subtly sweet and creamy with just a little bit of whole red bean remnants just for texture.
You just need to take a big bite of these warm mantous and savour their unique โ feelings โ ( ๐) -or rather fillings . The yam , red bean and turnip and mushroom mantous ( discontinued for now ) are my favourites.
Other than the many variations of mantous , just dough also serves up lovely and well plated salads and quinoa bowls and a really good pumpkin soup .
For kaya lovers - you must try their homemade kaya with mantou Set - your tastebuds wonโt be disappointed with their rich and creamy kaya ( ask for your mantou to be steamed instead of toasted ๐ - I like mine steamed )
I am happy to see how just dough is flourishing and doing well while doing good - everything is home made and for you skeptics out there - no- these are not the frozen or ready made - factory churned mantous that you see all some of the shops set up by Chinese nationals - which pardon me - but I shun away ......
The boss of just dough is into wellness and he believes in delivering high quality food that is both nourishing and tasty .
I am Glad he has done it ๐
