I haven’t experienced Oktoberfest outside of Singapore, but if it’s anything like what new Brotzeit Group Exec Chef Lorenz Raich serves up on his special Oktoberfest menu (available 15 Sep to 25 Oct 2020), I’m going to leave Munich very happy and satisfied.

His Kalter Schweinsbraten (Cold Roast Pork) is a most definite highlight from the selection. Pork collar, marinated overnight in a secret 12-spice mix, slow-roasted on a bed of root vegetables and Brotzeit’s lager, then chilled. The thin slices then enjoyed with a flourish of textures (where crispy pork skin meets the moist crunch of house-pickled daikon radish) and spice from crushed black pepper and a mustard aioli.
