Managed to secure a table at the eleventh hour at the highly coveted @miznonsg - Singapore’s first Israeli restaurant. Hailing from Tel Aviv, the pita bread that’s based on a secret recipe is air flown frozen from Israel.

If you totally aren’t a fan of bread, then the Hraime ($26) is one main you can order. A spicy Moroccan barramundi stew with tahini, chilli and cilantro. I enjoyed the comforting, tangy tomato stew (lots of tomatoes in it) and it’s wonderful when you dip the pita bread in it. The barramundi was lightly seasoned although the serving was a tad small.

Was it spicy? Not really. Perhaps it can do with a little more harissa.

Almost every item on the menu has vegetables and tahini made from ground sesame seeds sourced from Israel and then mixed with olive oil, lemon juice and salt.
