The finale at Thursday night’s dinner at @lynnettes_kitchen was sugee cake.
Not an ordinary one mind you but a most marvelous thing that departed from the norm with a thick layer of gula melaka cream cheese frosting lavished all over it. This presentation was new to me but after taking a bite, it made perfect sense. The light, luscious topping was fabulous with the fragrant, sandy textured cake. It bore the rounded sweetness of the gula melaka on its cloud - a delicious complement to the buttery sugee which also hid lots of fine crunchy almond bits.
