The bakwan kepiting soup, a Peranakan dish, is traditionally made with prawns, crab meat, pork and pork bones. To appeal to a more diverse groups of diners, The Peranakan recently launched a vegan Tok Panjang set, with this omnipork soup being one of the dishes.

The soup was a combination of papaya and cabbage, and overall flavourfully sweet. The best part though was the "meat" balls! They taste almost the same as the usual ones, with even the textures right on point with chewy tendons! Psst: We heard that the "meat" balls are made of soy, rice, shitake mushroom etc. Can't believe it! 😜
