When my bf first showed me a photo of his Salmon Don from this little eatery and raved about how could the rice was, I had doubts that it would surpass those of Japanese restaurants (like hello, who serves good dons in plastic bowls that look like they belong in food courts?), and that it was probably just rice mixed with some darn good furikake that can be bought from the supermarket.

Boy was I wrong! This humble little shop really paid attention to their rice, a fragrant truffle mushroom flavor laced with crunchy ebiko. My favorite from this place is still their Salmon Sashimi Don ($10.90, 8 slices), because it brings out the flavor of the rice the most without overwhelming it. Definitely give this eatery a shot!
