4 munchies: I don't usually compare the same dish from two establishments in my review, but the distasteful chilli crab that I had from Fremantle Seafood Market during the ongoing Singapore Restaurant Festival was a far cry from the one served at my favourite Szechuan-Cantonese restaurant.

Packed with sweet yet savoury and spicy flavours, the tangy gravy hit all the right notes from the sambal, tomato paste, and vinegar. It'd have been perfect if the texture of the eggy sauce were slightly thicker, though. The flesh of the 900g mud crab was sweet and succulent – best eaten with lots of gravy, and of course, using your hands!

The Wok-Fried Chilli Crab is part of Peony Jade's Red Hot Chilli Crabbers Set Lunch for Two, priced at $138.80++ for a five-course meal. It also comes with our iconic cocktail, the Singapore Sling! #Burpproved
