This was the table centerpiece during my family lunch party last week, looking stunning, vibrant, and auspicious at the same time. There's an elaborate sugar work going on here, with the intricate details of cherry blossoms and the three hand crafted life-like peonies atop the cake. I was told each of these peonies take an hour to hand-craft, so while we have devoured the cake, we have kept all three peonies in the fridge just to have them around longer. Within the brilliant red fondant is moist butter cake layered with French-style buttercream.
